South Carolina women’s basketball now has two national championships

Both trophies have been won in the last five years under head coach Dawn Staley

South Carolina won its first national championship in program history in 2017.

South Carolina was ranked No. 1 during the 2019-20 season,

but the NCAA Tournament was canceled that March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 On Sunday, Staley, Aliyah Boston and Co. secured the school its second national title.

The 51-year-old took over as South Carolina’s head coach in 2008

who made a national championship appearance as a player with Virginia in 1991.
